[RESEARCH] Effects of drug use on a spider when spinning a web.

Spider1

I can barely tolerate even caffeine, let alone have the fact that I would not dabble with the other things on this list. Although I dislike spiders, (they are just to small and fast man, I know they are trying to get in my ears) I feel bad they had to go through the side effects, even try to operate themselves constructively under the influence of these substances. However, I do appreciate the creative display of the madness that is "drugs".

And yes, I noticed someone can't spell "caffeine" correctly in this illustration.

Social Media Safety: Location Based Services [Personal Story]

Picture_1
Foursquare updated their user interface today. Pretty. On that note, I would like to discuss a little social media safety. Recently, I had major reminder of the possible issues with information that we share online.

A couple of weeks ago, there was an incident where I checked "in" and remained at a location long enough for a man to show up, alone, on the account that I was there. Luckily, I was not alone. I don't believe that harm was intended by this visit but I do know that it creeped me right the hell out. I had never met the man in person before, although he had asked to meet me more than once.

Location based services safety: the only reason you should ever check "IN" to a location is if you are doing so to receive an award/discount or offer that a business is offering and you are leaving the establishment within 10-15 minutes. Otherwise check "OUT". This is something that I have been practicing since I began using location based services. I use the service as I am leaving a location or I intend to leave in a matter of 10 minutes.

Checking "in" can be beneficial, as you can see in a previous post of mine regarding the Gap's Free Jeans Giveaway. I checked into the location so that I could receive the jeans and more importantly, I remained at the location a maximum of 15 minutes after my check-in.

It is important to note that when using social media, either to build your personal brand or to humanize a business, we are going to make mistakes. This is an entirely new way for mankind to socialize. I will continue to explore and use services that require me to disclose information that most would like to keep private. I have to. This is what I do.

Privacy is not cool. [Stand-up Comedy Clip]

Think of all you are surrendering to the cloud. Your grand children are going to see videos and photos and statements that you made during your youth. I find it quite amazing and I don't have personal issues with privacy and the internet (some would say, "yet"). I hope my grand nieces (or whatever you'd call 'em, because I am not having children of my own, at least naturally, but that is another post...) are proud of me. I hope that I make them laugh, and I hope that through the virtual experience they share with a more youthful version of myself allows them to connect with me on a deeper level while I am living. Maybe they will learn some lessons, maybe they will be inspired, maybe a past version of myself can comfort them through the ups and downs of life that every generation experiences.
